Glory Ann Penington

After decades of photographic adventures, including National Geographic featuring my photo of El Salto, I took up oil painting in the wake of a traumatic train derailment in 2016 where I suffered a brain injury. It took three years to overcome vision and PTSD challenges… and then I discovered a deeper expression of creative feeling in this new medium. Through photography, I show you how I see the world, but with painting, I share with you what I feel about it. Primarily using the palette knife technique, values and contrasts allow energies to radiate through light and air. As a viewer, you are then engaged in the resolution of abandonment and order, chaos and serenity. I’m delighted when the viewer sees something in the painting...
